Registration Criteria for Deposited Microorganisms

  • Registration Categories
    • Bacteria and yeasts corresponding to Biosafety Level 1 (BSL-1)
  • Characteristics of Registered Resources (must meet at least one of the following):
    • Resources with distinctive characteristics compared to existing strains held by KCKM
    • Resources that have been or are scheduled to be published in domestic or international journals
    • Reference strains recognized as important in general research or industry
  • Basic Requirements for Registered Resources
    • Resources with sufficient and accurate information
    • Purely isolated strains
    • Resources that can be cultured on artificial media
    • Resources capable of being preserved by freezing or lyophilization without significant alteration of key characteristics
