The deposited strains are preserved long-term at Bank of Kimchi Resources and Information of the World Institute of Kimchi and made available for sharing between the depositor and other researchers.

Safe deposit (entrustment) is a service provided by Bank of Kimchi Resources and Information of the World Institute of Kimchi to securely preserve resources with useful characteristics isolated by laboratories or companies. The deposited Resources are accessible only to the depositor and cannot be used by others. A deposit fee is charged: ₩110,000 for the initial 3 years and ₩77,000 for an additional 2 years (including VAT).
