WiKim has been visited by experts from various fields, including the representatives of kimchi companies, as well as university students and ordinary people who are interested in kimchi. With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic that started at the beginning of this year, many field trips to WiKim were canceled in compliance with the social distancing policy of the government.
Here are some people who visited WiKim once the spread of COVID-19 slowed down.
On November 6 and 13, undergraduate students from the Department of Food Engineering of Mokpo National University visited WiKim on a field trip. They were given a tour of WiKim after they were informed about the current status of the institute.

On the afternoon of November 13, employees of Pulmuone Iksan Kimchi Factory visited WiKim. The purpose of this visit was to seek advice from Dr. Chae-Lin Park and Senior Researcher Sunggi Min regarding the development of professional training programs for workers at the kimchi factory.

On October 29, the ceremony for completion of the 3rd WiKim Supporters initiative and launch of the 4th WiKim Supporters initiative was held at Seoul City Tower.
The 3rd WiKim Supporters group worked hard to raise awareness about the institute and promote kimchi by producing kimchi-related online content from October 2019 to October 2020. Awards for outstanding activity were given to 4 supporters based on their creation of novel social media content, the number of "likes" they acquired, the quality of their content, and their sincerity and initiative.
Subsequently, the inauguration ceremony of the 4th WiKim Supporters initiative was held. 6 people were selected to form the 4th WiKim Supporters group based on their follower count, content views, and interest in kimchi. After the presentation of the letter of commission and the introduction to the institute were concluded, the plans for future activities were discussed.
The 4th WiKim Supporters group will carry out their activities online/offline, including on-site coverage related to kimchi, until October 2021.
