YTN Science¡¯s ¡°Science Today¡± is a news program that delivers the latest updates in the industry. In particular, scientists from government-funded research institutes appear in person every Thursday to introduce their research achievements.

So far, diverse technologies have been introduced, including audio-tactile conversion technology for the hearing-impaired, technology for the eco-friendly removal of harmful substances in water, and robotic hand technology used for everyday life.

On June 4, WiKim Principal Researcher Hak-Jong Choi (Acting General Director) appeared in the news program for a live interview, where he introduced WiKim¡¯s research on the health benefits of kimchi.

As Covid-19 continues to spread worldwide, more people have become interested in immunity, and kimchi, one of Korea¡¯s major fermented foods, is also attracting attention as it shows an effect of helping boost immunity. In particular, the latest broadcast introduced functional kimchi lactic acid bacteria discovered by WiKim, which are found to alleviate the symptoms of atopic disease and Parkinson¡¯s disease and also exhibit anti-obesity effects.
