On May 6, WiKim held a ceremony to present the Minister of Science and ICT Award to an outstanding researcher as part of the 53rd Science Day celebrations.

Science Day aims to enhance national competitiveness by raising public awareness on science and technology as well as the innovations in the field. Historically, Science Day coincides with the establishment of the Ministry of Science and Technology, which took place on April 21, 1967.

The recipient of this year’s award is Ji-Hyoung Ha, a Leader of the Hygienic Safety and Analysis Center and Senior Researcher. He is responsible for developing technologies that detect and reduce hazards in foods. Moreover, his technologies were featured in several media outlets, thereby contributing to the development of science and technology and food hygiene.
