WiKim has produced the documentary Kimchi Universe to promote the history, culture, and global status of Korean kimchi.
Kimchi Universe, co-organized with Daesang Corp. is a project with three episodes aiming to inform people at home and abroad of the independent evolutionary process and cultural uniqueness of kimchi, a traditional Korean fermented food, given the ongoing debate over its history and culture.
The first episode “Evolvolution of Kimchi,” which was released on April 27 to keen interest, shed new light on kimchi, which has evolved throughout its history on the Korean table.

WiKim, a government-funded research institute that studies kimchi comprehensively, was responsible for researching specialized data from a historical and cultural perspective. It also enhanced the completion of the delivery of content through public relations and marketing consultation by Professor Kyoung-duk Seo of Sungshin Women’s University, a well-known Korean culture promoter.
In the narration of the first episode, MBC PD Tae-ho Kim participated as a talent donation. PD Kim has attended various historical and cultural activities, including Cheoyongmu, which has been listed as a UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage Site, and Andong, a sacred place for the independence movement during the Japanese colonial period.

With growing interest in kimchi worldwide, it is expected to provide the right information at home and abroad and help Koreans take pride in their treasured food.
The second episode, “Korean Icon, Kimchi,” which will be released soon, will deal with Koreans’ unusual love of kimchi. Across generations, there are interesting stories about kimchi, such as foods that go well with it or changes in storage depending on the residential environment.
People are wondering who will narrate this second episode!
It’s not a secret that rapper BewhY is participating in the narration!!!
The “New Wave,” the last episode, will introduce the global status of kimchi, rapidly emerging as an icon of health after COVID-19. Please pay attention to the upcoming video.
